Alastor is run by our two directors, Kimball Bailey and Iebe Ypma. One or both will be actively involved in all our assignments.
Where we use associates, this will be to complement Kimball and Iebe with specific skills. All of our associates are highly experienced and most have worked with the directors over many years.
Iebe Ypma
- Iebe’s 30-year career in consulting spans significant periods with A T Kearney and Ernst & Young. His line management experience at ICL and Unilever includes taking a number of innovative projects supporting major capital investments from concept study through to implementation.
- As a consultant, Iebe works with clients to ensure that business change and process innovation deliver business benefits. His contribution to such projects spans a range of roles, from executive responsibility as the global project director, to a mentoring role as an external adviser to board members. His work on these projects is supported by strong skill sets in the areas of benefits realisation, project management, process mapping and process innovation, logistics, IT strategy and procurement.
- Iebe is a Dutch national, born in Japan, and educated in Germany, South Africa and the UK. He has managed major projects in Europe, the USA, Middle and Far East and brings an international perspective to all his activities. He speaks Dutch, German and Afrikaans as well as English.
- Iebe gained his MBA from Cranfield in 1984 and also holds a Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance. He is a trained trainer and facilitator.
- Iebe has been actively involved in the Association of MBAs, as Chairman, and, more recently, as Chairman of the International Accreditation Advisory Board which assesses business schools.
- Iebe is a keen cyclist and regularly rides on various country roads, city streets, mountains and cols across Europe and South Africa.
Kimball Bailey
- Kimball has been a consultant for nearly 30 years, including ten years at Ernst & Young, and has held director roles at Pagoda, Compass and Gartner. He started his career in the financial services industry, concentrating on IT and management information.
- As a consultant, Kimball works with clients to develop and implement their strategies, improve business performance, achieve planned outcomes and ensure that they realise benefit from their investment in IT and business change.
- He is an experienced consultancy director with a background in information technology, the management of change, business transformation and procurement across a range of sectors.
- He has wide experience of leading and working on international business change programmes and an effective track record in facilitating, developing and training internal and client teams.
- He has worked in the UK, the US and the Middle East as well as across Europe, in France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Benelux, Scandinavia, central Europe and Cyprus.
- Kimball holds an MA in law from Cambridge University (Magdalene College) and completed his degree in 1978. He is a regular conference speaker and also speaks reasonable – though now a little rusty – French.
- Kimball is a keen skier and cricketer: he chairs his local club and is a strictly non-playing member of the MCC. He has published a thriller, Dark Designs (by “Timothy Kimball”).
